“Pleasurable objects and buildings mediate an experience of the processes by which the object or structure was made; in a way, they invite the viewer/user to touch the hand of the maker.”¹
This project is concerned with closely examining responses to the sensory experience of architectural materials through drawing. Working considers the process of sensory ‘touch’ in both reception and expression.
The installation, Skin, comprising drawings on translucent papers, activated by natural light in the space, was shown as part of Forms Assembled in the Light, an exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills Gallery from September to October 2018.
